From a small JSS to a model school.

The only senior high school within the Ghana Armed Forces Headquarters — built on discipline, powered by light.

Our history

Nearly five decades of shining

What began in 1978 to serve the children of soldiers has grown into one of Greater Accra's respected senior high technical schools — without ever losing its family spirit.

1978

Established as a Junior Secondary School

Founded jointly by the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Education to educate dependants of soldiers and MoD civilian staff at Burma Camp.

1982

Upgraded to a Secondary Technical School

Technical and vocational education becomes the backbone of the school's identity.

Our Motto

“Knowledge, Service and Discipline”

Our slogan says it all: when a Forces student greets you, the answer is “Comrade!” — family first.

Our Mission

To train and equip young people with requisite skills, knowledge, moral aptitude and discipline in an environment of collaboration and mutual respect among teachers, parents and students — for the wellbeing of the individual and the country.

Our Vision

To become an ultra-modern Senior High Technical School in Ghana — a model school and a centre of excellence for Science, ICT, Technical and Vocational education.

Our values

Knowledge, Service and Discipline

Three words that sum up every assembly, every class, every match — and every Forces graduate.

Knowledge

Learning is the lamp we hand every student — academic, technical and moral.

Service

Serving the nation, the forces community and one another — leadership begins with service.

Discipline

Within the barracks walls, discipline is not a rule — it is a culture our students carry for life.

Leadership

Guided by experience

The school is governed by a Board of Governors inaugurated under the Ghana Armed Forces, working hand in hand with the Ghana Education Service.

Board of Governors

Oversight and strategic direction, re-constituted under Ghana Armed Forces leadership.

Headship & staff

A dedicated headmaster/mistress, assistants and teaching staff committed to every learner.

PTA & alumni

Parents and old students (the Forces family) partner the school through the portal, programmes and projects.

Parent-Teacher Association

The PTA — partners in progress

The Parent-Teacher Association of Forces Senior High Technical School promotes effective collaboration between parents, teachers and school management towards the academic, social and infrastructural development of the school. Through partnership and shared responsibility, the PTA continues to contribute significantly to improving teaching and learning conditions and the general welfare of students.
